Find the frame that suits the work

Every piece of artwork has its own character, and the right frame can bring that character to life in an entirely different way. A traditional painting may feel more timeless with a beautifully detailed classic moulding, while a contemporary print can stand out with a clean, minimalist profile. Natural wood finishes add warmth and texture, while darker tones create depth, contrast and a more dramatic presentation. At MEMORA HOUSE, we help you explore three carefully considered framing directions, allowing you to compare how each style changes the look and feel of your artwork.

Our craftsmanship

A good frame is quiet. It supports the piece without competing with it. That comes from careful decisions at every stage of the work.

  • Measured to the pieceEvery frame is sized to your artwork, not the other way round.
  • Cut and joined with careCorners are matched so the moulding reads as one clean line.
  • Mats cut to proportionBorders are balanced so the image has room to breathe.
  • Finished and checkedEach frame is reviewed before it leaves the workshop.
  • Detail in every finishEvery edge and surface is carefully finished, creating a refined look that feels considered from every angle.

Preservation, built into the frame

How a piece is framed affects how well it is looked after. We talk through the protective options that suit your artwork, its condition and where it will hang.

  • Protective glazingOptions include glass or acrylic, with UV-filtering and low-reflection choices to discuss.
  • Archival-minded materialsMat and backing boards chosen with long-term care in mind.
  • Considered mountingMounting methods selected to suit the piece and how you want to handle it later.

Preservation

Our commitment to preservation

Abstract arches artwork, shown as an example of a piece suited to protective framing
Every piece has different needs. We choose protection to suit it.

Framing is also protection. Once a piece is on the wall, it spends years exposed to light, changes in humidity, dust and everyday handling. We cannot remove those risks, but we can make sensible choices that reduce them.

We do not make blanket promises about how long a piece will last, because that depends on the piece, its condition and where it hangs. What we promise is to explain the options honestly and to use materials and methods designed for the job.

What can affect a framed piece and what we consider
What can affect a pieceWhat we consider
LightStrong or prolonged light can fade colours and weaken paper. We discuss where the piece will hang and glazing options designed to filter UV light.
Humidity and moistureDamp conditions can cause paper to ripple or mould to develop. We talk about backing options and suggest avoiding damp walls.
Dust and handlingDust and fingerprints build up on exposed surfaces. A sealed frame with suitable glazing keeps the surface protected.
Unsuitable materialsSome everyday materials are not made for long contact with artwork. We choose mat boards and mounting materials made for this purpose.
Weight and movementA heavy frame needs proper hardware. We match hangers and backing to the size and weight of the finished piece.
